Beautiful alpine hike to Feichtenstein in Hintersee
Come along on an adventurous hike in Hintersee. Enjoy breathtaking views, watch horses and cows on idyllic alpine meadows, and savor the summit bliss with a cozy stop at the Feichtensteinalm with delicious Pofesn and a playground for children.
We start the hike at Hintersee Lämmerbach and walk towards the valley end and then about an hour uphill to the Gruberalmen. From here, the path leads moderately steep through the forest up to the Feichtenstein summit. On the summit of the Feichtenstein, you will be rewarded with a fantastic view into the valley and over Hintersee. We go back a bit and cross the idyllic alpine meadows, where horses and cows graze, to the Feichtensteinalm, where we enjoy the world’s best Pofesn and views of the surrounding peaks such as Gruberhorn, Gennerhorn, and Regenspitz while our children play on the playground.
The return path takes us along the forest road and further over the forest-water-magic path down to the Satzstein and into the village of Hintersee, where we take the bus back.

Directions
From the stop Hintersee Lämmerbach, follow the path towards the valley end and then hiking route 55 towards Gruberalmen. After about an hour of walking, you reach the Gruberalmen and continue hiking towards the Feichtenstein summit. From the summit cross of the Feichtenstein, descend to the Feichtensteinalm and then take the return path via the forest road and the forest-water-magic path to the natural monument Satzstein and the Joseph Mohr memorial path to the center of Hintersee.

From Salzburg main station, take bus 155 to Faistenau Schule and from there bus 157 to Hintersee Lämmerbach. Return via the same connection from Hintersee town center.

Safety information
