The Dr. Heinrich-Hackel-Hütte at 1,526 m entices with great regional and homemade dishes, friendly hosts, and a sensational view of the main Alpine ridge (and on clear days even up to the Großglockner). Those who want can stay overnight here and aim for higher goals or walk a bit further to observe marmots.
The route to the Hackel-Hütte offers something suitable for every demand. Those who prefer a short route reach the alpine hut at 1,526 m in about 1.5 hours. Along the way, there are also fairy tale stations where the legend of the three towering peaks of the local mountains is told in 8 stages. Upon arrival, you can enjoy great regional and homemade dishes with a sensational view of the Alps.
The hut is also easily accessible with children and offers a great sunny terrace with a wide view and good regional cuisine. Those who want can also spend the night here and climb the surrounding peaks, take a detour to the Brandstättalm to observe the marmots living there (bring binoculars!), or continue to the Bischlinghöhe and descend to Werfenweng.
