Versatile local mountain of Rußbach
With snowshoes, crampons or touring skis – depending on snow conditions, Bodenberg in Rußbach can be climbed in many ways in winter. A beautiful path through the forest leads to Bodenbergalm. Directions
In the town center, the path to Bodenberg branches off to the left between the tourist office and the convenience store. The road crosses the Rinnbach and becomes a forest road after the parking lot. Follow this to the entrance of the Ghost Forest. Through the forest you reach the forest road again until a steeper forest path branches off to the right. Follow the markings over two switchbacks, cross a forest road and continue through the forest to Bodenbergalm. Keep left at the edge of the forest until you reach the alpine hut. Behind it, climb two more forest road switchbacks and take the path to the summit cross (1,520 m). The descent leads along the ridge to the north. On the forest road, descend several switchbacks back into the forest. At the next fork, keep right. The forest road bends eastward to the Rinnbergalmen at the foot of Gamsfeld. From there, the toboggan run leads back along the Rinnbach to Rußbach.
