From Filzensattel near Dienten to Erichhütte
A sunny high-altitude hike with magnificent views of gastronomy and landscape on the southwestern foothills of the Hochkönig massif.
The two gastronomic highlights of the hike between Filzen Saddle and Dienten Saddle are the Pichlalm (1434 m) below the distinctive Lausköpfe and the Erichhütte (1546 m) at the entrance to the Taghaubenkar. So a delightful hut visit is provided for, although there is a counter-ascent of around 150 meters in altitude between the two popular huts. This leads through the unique Bockkluft, a terrain furrowed by wild ravines and appearing primeval, followed by a wonderfully gentle alpine pasture landscape as a calming conclusion.

From the Dienten Filzensattel stop, the marked trail 68 leads to the Pichlalm, first through the forest, then over elaborately constructed wooden boardwalks in 1 hour to the sunny located rest stop with petting animals, playground equipment, and beer garden. The demanding, 2-hour climb to the Lausköpfe branches off to the left, whereas our route to the Erichhütte crosses the sunny alpine meadow straight ahead. Shortly after the Mittereggalm (1358 m), the route goes left through a ravine and then before the barrier turns left again into the forest. At the lowest point, the route splits: either on path 436 via the Bockkluftsteig or, somewhat less demanding, on the bypass trail in 45 minutes uphill to the scenic Erichhütte. Along the access road, the sunny high-altitude hike ends after half an hour in front of the Dienten Erichhütte parking stop.

From Bischofshofen train station (forecourt) take bus 590 to Mühlbach town center, bus 593 to Dienten Fuchsau, bus 620 to Dienten Filzensattel.
Return from Dienten Erichhütte parking lot with bus 593 to Mühlbach town center, bus 590 to Bischofshofen train station. Bus 593 runs from late June to the first week of November!
