From station to station in Seekirchen
For some time now, there have been two train stations in Seekirchen am Wallersee, one in the south and one in the north. A good opportunity for a connecting stroll through the town.
For various reasons, many train stations are often located outside town centers. This is also true for Seekirchen, but the old station in the north is closer to the Wallersee. Certainly an advantage for bathers, but relatively far from the town center for residents. With the new Seekirchen Stadt train stop, there is a direct connection only a few minutes from the town center. On the way there, you cannot miss St. Rupert, probably the most important figure of Seekirchen. Even before the Bishop of Worms came to Salzburg, he settled in Seekirchen around 696 and built the first 4 x 14 m large church. The current collegiate parish church dates from the 17th century, but the regional saint is still present with many altar paintings and statues. After this brief historical excursion, the (unsigned) path leads through a nice residential area to the bathing beach and in a wide arc to the Seekirchen am Wallersee train station.    Â

From the new Seekirchen Stadt train stop, the path to the center first follows Max-Gandolf-Straße on the right, then left onto the crossing Rupertusstraße, and finally Postgasse to the parish church. To the right of the church and past the cemetery, it goes along Moosstraße to Uferstraße branching off to the right, and after 550 meters following Forellenstraße to the left to Seebadstraße. The path to the bathing beach passes through a charming leisure area with a fitness park, eco stations, and rest areas. After 750 m, the spaciously equipped public bathing beach is reached. The 1 km path to the Seekirchen train station branches off twice to the left and, upon arrival, at least for the Salzburg direction, still must cross a steep level crossing.
