To the Regenspitz from the Satzstein parking lot in Hintersee

One of the most striking peaks of the Osterhorn group is the Regenspitz with a height of 1,675 meters. The Regenspitz is one of the most diverse peaks for ski touring in the region and offers quite a bit even for demanding ski tourers.

The Regenspitz is a prime destination in the ski touring area of the Osterhorn group or Hintersee. Additionally, this mountain offers us various ascent and descent options. Very popular is crossing the mountain with the ascent via the Feichtensteinalm and the descent to the Bergalm or through the Tiefenbachtal back down to Hintersee. If you choose this variant, you can also “take along” the Bergköpfl (1,480 m) and extend the route a bit. Experienced ski tourers also dare the descent over the steep northwest flank directly into the Tiefenbachgraben under optimal conditions.

Directions

From the Hintersee town center bus stop, past the church, 500 m flat along the access road to the Satzstein parking lot. Pass the overhanging Satzstein on the right, then up on the pull path to the fork “Regenspitz via Feichtenstein”, turn left. Follow the farm road to the Alm, then always southwards along the initially moderately steep and wide, then narrow and finally very steep (watch out for cornices) ridge to the summit (1675 m). Descent: Only under extremely favorable conditions and only by absolutely confident skiers is the direct entry into the 40-degree steep northwest flank into the Tiefenbachgraben advisable. More enjoyable, yet still demanding enough, is the descent westwards to the Bergalmsattel. Depending on snow conditions, also with a southwest curve over the Storchenalm.       Slope orientation: depending on the variant north and northwest Elevation ascent/descent: 920 m Duration: 02:30 hrs ascent and 01:00 hr descent Difficulty (on a five-level ski scale): II – III (descent via the northwest flank IV–V)
