The comprehensive land consolidation of 2014 reorganized 600 hectares, reduced 860 parcels to 320 and created new pathways and ecological measures.
The land consolidation in Piesendorf, completed in 2014, was a century project. Over 600 hectares of land were reorganized, reducing 860 parcels to 320. The project began in 1998, initiated by Chairman Lorenz Aberger and later driven forward by a dedicated team under the leadership of Anton Aberger and Josef Geisler.
Previously, unfavorable ownership conditions had resulted from earlier drainage projects. Despite initial setbacks and resistance, the reorganization continued under the guidance of Dipl.-Ing. Friederike Moser and other participants. In the fall of 2014, the construction of new infrastructure such as paths, hedges, and bridges began, financed through a mix of self-funding and grants.
The result is a modern network of paths and optimized land use, benefiting both agriculture and the public. The ecological measures ensure the preservation of the typical valley floor landscape. Thanks to the commitment of all involved, a sustainable land management system has been established.
