The climate change and the resulting influences on glacier retreat and weather in the region are the core content of this exhibition.
In the recently revised 100-year history of the national park idea in the Hohe Tauern, Uttendorf, the Stubach Valley and the area around the Weißsee always play a central role. The first basic purchases, as the foundation stone for a national park, were made in 1913 in the Stubach Valley. Decades later, uses in the energy sector opposed this idea, creating tensions and conflicts of interest concerning the relationship between hydropower and the national park for many years.
30 years after the establishment of the national park, a good neighborhood has grown on its borders, characterized by mutual respect and appreciation, which allows common ideas and cooperation to grow. The ÖBB, as the operator of the Stubachtal power plant group, and the Hohe Tauern National Park – with the support of the community of Uttendorf and the Berghotel Rudolfshütte – have also taken action in this regard with this exhibition.

Public transport
With the Pinzgauer Lokalbahn from Zell am See or Krimml to Uttendorf-Stubachtal station. From here there is a regular bus connection on the panorama road through the Stubach Valley to Enzingerboden (1482 m), the valley station of the Weißsee glacier world. The gondola then takes you comfortably up to the Berghotel Rudolfshütte at 2315 m above sea level.
