Festival Halls
Insights into the exciting world of art, theatre, and the world-famous Salzburg Festival.
Festival district
The Great Festival Hall, the House of Mozart and the Felsenreitschule together with the cathedral square 200 meters away and the Collegienkirche are the festival district. In 1606/07 “Erzbischof Wolf Dietrich” had stables built here, which were extended in 1662 by a winter riding school. In the 19th century, the complex served as a cavalry barracks, before it was opened gradually from 1925 to the Salzburg Festival.
If you ever wanted to get a look behind the curtains of the Salzburg Festival, you get the best chance with these daily tours. Apart from the three Festival Houses, you see the foyers and auditorium.
Please note that due to setup and performances, not all rooms are open to public every day.
