Our cozy mountain hut at 1,300 m above sea level offers you a breathtaking view of the mountain village of Mühlbach and the majestic Hochkönig massif. From the Gasthaus Paussbauer, the comfortable “Path of Good Thoughts” leads you to the Proneben Alm: Numerous signs with inspiring quotes invite you to linger and pause along the way. As one of the 12 herb mountain huts in the Hochkönig region, we treat you to a hearty platter of snacks, traditional Austrian desserts, and our homemade herbal salt. Many of the herbs for this grow directly on the mountain meadow. The hut belongs to the Proneben estate of the Deutinger family in Mühlbach and is run by the hut hosts Christoph and Max. Open from May to October, Monday is a day of rest (except for Whit Monday). No reservation is necessary; just come by.
