The Loosbühelalm is a delight in both summer and winter, with a sun terrace, farm-fresh produce, a playground and accommodation.

The Loosbühelalm, situated at 1,769 metres, lies directly on the Salzburger Almenweg at the end of the Ellmautal valley and is run with great passion by the Heigl family. In summer, hikers can reach the alpine hut in around 1 1/2 hours via a footpath or forest track; mountain bikers are also welcome, as a public cycle path leads right up to the hut. In winter, the Loosbühelalm is a popular destination for winter walkers, snowshoe hikers, ski tourers and tobogganists. Up there, a large sun terrace with sweeping views and rustic dining rooms await. The mountain hut treats guests to culinary delights featuring farm-fresh produce such as goat’s cheese, sour cheese, bacon, sausages, butter, Swiss stone pine schnapps, hot dishes and pastries. For children, there is a playground and petting zoo in summer, and in winter there is snow to play in and a natural toboggan run with toboggan hire. Overnight stays in Swiss stone pine and larch wood rooms, as well as the Swiss stone pine alpine sauna with panoramic views, make for a special stay.
