Hellbrunn Palace & Trick Fountains

For more than 400 years, Hellbrunn Palace has enchanted and amazed its visitors with its trick fountains. A unique experience with all kinds of surprises in store!

Hunting lodges are there for hunting, residences to live in and to govern from – but what is actually a pleasure palace? Quite simply, a place for celebration, for pleasure and recuperation. Pleasure palaces were highly fashionable around 1615. Little has changed at Hellbrunn in over 400 years, except that in earlier times pleasure was reserved for archbishops such as Markus Sittikus.

Experience the world of Markus Sittikus in the exhibition – modern technology creates an experience for all senses.

The fountains once used by Markus Sittikus to entertain his guests can still be visited today, every bit as fun now as they were back then. Mysterious grottos, water-powered figures and hidden water jets waiting to surprise unsuspecting visitors promise splashing good times for all ages. Especially on hot summer days, the Hellbrunn fountains are a welcome source of refreshment!

The palace grounds are a marvellous place to unwind, take a walk and enjoy a bit of outdoor sport.
