Alm with bar of many homemade products
The alpine hut built in 1967/68 is located at the foot of the Lausköpfe in the Hochkönig area in Dienten. While the animals are on the alpine pasture, the hut is used as an alpine bar. The guests are spoiled with a hearty Pichlalm Brettljause, bacon bread, cheese bread and much more. Bread, bacon and cream cheese are produced at the Pichlhof in Hinterthal (organic farm). The meat for the sausage comes from our own production. The cheese is purchased from partner farms and the Pinzgauer dairy in Maishofen.
Next to the alpine hut there is a playground with swings and a slide for the little guests.
Interested people are welcome to watch the milking.
If the weather is not so nice, there is a cosy and warm room in the alpine hut.
As the alpine pasture has been home to a marmot colony since the seventies, the chances of seeing one of the shy animals are not bad. Their shrill whistles can be heard well on the alpine pasture.
TIP: in July, August and September every Thursday is “Bladltag” (sweet and sour) at the Pichlalm
We ask for pre-registration until Wednesday!
