Adventure routes from Bad Vigaun to Kuchl
THE TWO THEMED ROUTES „LIFELINE TAUGL“ IN BAD VIGAUN AND THE „TIME TRAVEL ROUTE“ IN KUCHL ARE THE BACKBONE OF A FANTASTIC VALLEY HIKE.
The two historically significant Tennengau communities Bad Vigaun and Kuchl guarantee exciting and extraordinary routes. In Bad Vigaun, the themed route „Lifeline Taugl“ presents the unique wild river, and in Kuchl, the route takes us on a fascinating „time travel“. Very helpful at the nine stations are QR codes that allow for deeper impressions. Brand new is the „Story Path“ in the Taugl forest at the start of the hike. It goes in-depth and explains the important drinking water reservoir as well as the airy heights. A huge walk-in birdcage reminds that in 1693 a „bird tennis“ was set up here to catch songbirds. Nowadays, the feathered friends are treated more gently: at Georgenberg in Kuchl, the nearly extinct northern bald ibises were successfully bred. Thus, at Georgenberg in Kuchl, a time travel and life route also begins for the quirky ibis birds, when they head south to their winter quarters in late summer.

Directions
In front of the Bad Vigaun train station, the path „To the Lifeline Taugl“ branches off to the right. The route to this wild river crosses the Taugl forest and follows the thrillingly designed „Historical Educational Trail“. After the motorway underpass begins the Taugl nature reserve designated as Natura 2000, through which the fascinating „Lifeline Educational Trail“ runs. After 2.3 km the route leads over the so-called Roman Bridge from the 16th century and 300 m later turns left onto the unmarked forest path. Only a stone's throw to the right below lies the fantastic rock pool. The path to Kuchl crosses onto the sunny Unterlangenberg plain and follows the meadow edge along the „Leonhardsweg“. After 2.5 km our route turns right onto Doserweg, which leads exactly to Georgenberg. At the chapel, briefly left and then right over the driveway to the elevated Georgenberg. Shortly before the church, the Time Travel Route branches left and leads steeply down to the southwest side of the Ice Age conglomerate rock. On this side the northern bald ibises nest, but at the foot of the rock there is also a riding stable, through which the Leisenweg passes by the Wood Technology College into the enchanting market town of Kuchl. The Kuchl Markt bus stop (bus 170) is located on the federal road, the station 5 minutes further west.
