Alles Alm in Obertauern

A HIKING EXPERIENCE FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY. WITH 10 STATIONS, THE TOPIC OF ALMS IS PLAYFULLY CONVEYED, MAKING THE TIME FLY BY.

In the cold season, Obertauern is the destination for winter sports enthusiasts; in summer, the pasture animals enjoy the lush meadows. The themed trail “Alles Alm” stretches over the area used as a cross-country skiing center in winter between Vorder- and Hintergnadenalm and highlights various aspects of alpine farming. The stations also cover historical and cultural backgrounds, while there is plenty of space for play, skill, and rest areas. At the beginning and the furthest point of the loop, both young and old visitors can enjoy refreshments at the inns and be convinced of the quality of the alpine products produced here. The path is suitable for strollers.

Directions

From the Gnadenalm bus stop just before the Gnadenbrücke, the path follows the short driveway branching off here to the Vorderen Gnadenalm. The start of the themed trail, a huge play tower with a slide and lookout platform, cannot be missed. The next station is dedicated to haymaking, clearly emphasized by the oversized wooden tools rake and scythe. The marmots also have their turn; children can even visit a burrow. The path goes up high to a small lookout hill, from where the entire pasture area between the Gnadenalms is visible. The centuries-old maple tree at the fork in the path could surely tell how in the 17th century the grazing rights were graciously transferred from the prince-archbishop to the local farmers. After the cozy inns of Hintergnadenalm, the path leads back in a wide left curve, crossing the Taurach.
