From Goldegg Weng via the Gamskögerl to the Böndlsee
Mountain enjoyment and bathing pleasure can be perfectly combined thanks to good bus connections on the plateau around Goldegg.
After the sweaty ascent to the Gamskögerl, a vast mountain panorama opens up, stretching from the Hochkönig massif to the Goldberg group in the south. But the view of a refreshing swim in the peaty Böndlsee at the southwestern foothill of the mountain is also invigorating. The path there is still quite long, but with the Meislsteinalm there is an excellent stopover on the sunny route. From there, there is also a 20-minute detour to the picturesque shepherd’s chapel. The bus 580 waits directly at the lake or even at the junction before, for the return trip to the Salzach valley to Schwarzach.

Directions
From the Goldegg Weng bus stop, follow the marked Route 27 “Gamskögerl via Enkerbichl” initially for another 1.5 km along the access road, then cross a ditch as a narrow path and reach the Hochleiten Alm after 1 hour (opening hours May, June, Oct. - Fri, Sat, Sun and public holidays. July, Aug., Sept. - daily except Mon closed. www.hochleitenalm.at). The next section becomes steeper again, also wetter in the upper forest part, then quite flat up to the upper Weng Alm, before finally changing onto the very beautiful and sunny final ascent to the Gamskögerl (1,747 m). A few minutes from the scenic summit leads back to the fork, now to the right on path 447 (Goldegg Weng) to another junction. Routes 10/9 lead in 1 hour to the Meislsteinalm (Mon, Tue closed) and past the nearby Hackeralm in another hour to the picturesque Böndlsee. The Goldegg Böndlsee bus stop is located opposite the Hotel Seeblick, the Goldegg Troger stop, 10 minutes closer, is at the junction before.
