From Koppl to Ebenau

ON QUIET PATHS FROM KOPPL TO THE VILLAGE OF MILLS IN EBENAU.

There are good connections between Koppl and Ebenau. This includes, for example, the Rettenbach flowing from the Koppler Moor, which, thanks to the 130 meters of elevation difference between the villages, stores enough energy to power numerous mills. The shortest connection between Koppl and Ebenau is the old, now traffic-free road, this mostly winter-proof hiking proposal follows it. There is also the comfortable bus 154, which connects the two municipalities in Flachgau in a customer-friendly rhythm and brings hikers back to the starting point. All excellent connections! Previously, in the hiking village Ebenau, several short themed trails invite you to get to know this former center of iron, copper, and brass processing better. Particularly recommended is the half-hour Brass Trail in conjunction with a visit to the “Museum in the Fürstenstöckl.”

Directions

The starting point is the bus stop Koppl village center or Koppl Sperrbrücke (additional walking time to Koppl village center 30 minutes). Past a large information board, the route turns right, then left towards Aschau and immediately left again into Schernthonstraße. First slightly uphill, then descending, the farm driveway leads to a fork and now follows Schmiedhäuslweg towards Ebenau to the left. The forest and steep section soon pass, revealing a sunny plain, bordered to the south by Ebenau church. On the way there is the picturesque Pertill mill, a double mill from the 17th century. A quarter of an hour later, when you reach the kindergarten, the fastest way leads to the bus stop Ebenau village center on the left past the fire station, straight ahead goes through the underpass into the town center. There, the 1.2 km long Brass Trail 66 branches right to the Fürstenstöckl and the Florian Church and leads with beautiful views above in a loop back to the stream. On the left along this closes the Brass loop. The village center bus stop is reached in three minutes via the street underpass.
