From Lungötz to Annaberg
The lonely hiking trail over the Kreilmoos with a detour to the Gappenkopf connects the two different local parts Lungötz and Annaberg.
The municipality of Annaberg-Lungötz covers an area of 61 km², the highest elevation is the 2458 m high Bischofsmütze. The eponymous districts Annaberg and Lungötz lie about three road kilometers apart in the Lammertal. The varied forest path 62, which runs between the southeastern Tennengebirge foothills Gappenkopf and Krailberg, is considerably longer from Lungötz to the tourist main town Annaberg. Those who feel like a small summit with a great view in between can enhance the quiet forest hike with a good one-hour detour to the Gappenalm and from there to the nearby Gappenkopf (1509 m). Best views of cozy sleeping hollows and the eastwards opposite Bischofsmütze are included. The forest path in turn surprises with a fairy-tale moor meadow, the protected Kreilmoos.

Directions
From the bus stop Lungötz town center the route leads another 400 m along the B 166 in the direction of St. Martin to the junction "Lammertal." Here turn right and a few minutes later turn right again onto the Gappenberg farm road. At a fork, we stay on the straight path, the path 61a leading through the Höhringgraben to the Gappenalm. Shortly before a saddle, the paths divide again: the short variant to Annaberg follows path 62 (Kreilmoos circular route) to the right, while the one-hour path to the Gappenalm and further to the Gappenkopf increases considerably in steepness. From this worthwhile detour, back on the forest road, the idyllic Kreilmoos is reached turning left in 20 minutes. On the east side of the circular moor meadow, three forest roads branch off. Almost inconspicuously, path 62 leaves in the left corner and follows the narrow forest path steeply downhill for 45 minutes to the first farm in the Kreil district. The fastest way to the village branches off at the junction slightly below first to the left and then immediately again, now unmarked, to the right at the next house and ends in front of the playground. The bus stop Annaberg town center is located on the left side of the main road in front of the new middle school.
