From Obergnigl in the city of Salzburg to Elsbethen – Glasenbach
A SCENIC WALK FOR THE TRANSITION PERIOD: FROM THE OBERGNIGL TROUT TURNING AT THE SUNNY FOOT OF GAISBERG ACROSS THE CITY OF SALZBURG TO THE ROUNDABOUT IN GLASENBACH.
The walk on the eastern edge of the city of Salzburg is an ideal outing for the transition period. The route partly follows less busy streets, then again completely traffic-calmed spacious bike and footpaths. Along the paths, naturally, interesting insights open up into the varied urban architecture. From the ultra-modern villa to the farmhouse from the 16th century, the range is broad. In the Aigen district, the Aigner Park offers a fantastic natural landscape towards the end.

Directions
The starting point is the trolleybus turning loop in Obergnigl. Just below it lies Minnesheim Park with the charming four Graces, representing the four seasons. Our route follows Eichstraße, past the old school where classes no longer take place but where people likely live comfortably. The route crosses left along the foot of the mountain onto Kühbergstraße, and through traffic is no longer an issue. The short incline is enough to open up a fascinating view over the city far into the mountains. At Schmedererplatz, trolleybus line 6 turns, named after a Munich brewer who had the stately villa built in 1887. At least 300 years older is the Apothecary Court on the mountain side opposite, past which the route passes. We follow Kreuzbergpromenade for over a kilometer, then the adjoining Furtwänglerpromenade and finally Schwarzenbergpromenade. This leads past the church and Schloss Aigen where cathedral canon Ernst Fürst zu Schwarzenberg lived from 1804. The Felberbach is crossed, shortly after which the route turns left and leads along the dog meadow and forest edge to the Aigen campsite. Over Weberbartlweg, the left-turning Habeggutstraße and Schießstandstraße, the route meets Aignerstraße and ends either left at Ursulinen stop or right at Elsbethen-Glasenbach stop.
