The Kürsingerhütte in Neukirchen am Großvenediger
Via the glacier route to the Obersulzbachtal glacier lake and from there via the via ferrata (B) to the Kürsingerhütte. Starting point for an ascent of the Großvenediger. Return on the hiking trail.
Here you experience the beautiful glacier-shaped landscape in the Obersulzbachtal, surrounded by the white 3000-meter peaks. From the material cable car, follow the stream further up the valley. The ascent is well secured to the Obersulzbachsee. The glacier path offers interesting information, above all you can visualize the massive glacier retreat using the years! Here begins the via ferrata, which has a few B sections in the lower part and mostly A sections in the upper part. (330 m ascent, 1 hour) Above it is the Kürsingerhütte. With a mountain guide or alpine training, after a night at the hut, the ascent to the Großvenediger, the highest peak in Salzburg, is recommended. For the return, the new hiking trail, which leads safely down to the valley, is recommended. (1 hour 20 min)
