Ski tour on the Kamplbrunnspitze (Kampl)
JUST AS BEAUTIFUL AS THE POWDER RIDGES ON THE SUMMIT ARE THE FARM MEADOWS IN THE LOWER PART: TRAVELLING ON UNUSUAL TRACKS FROM ANNABERG TO THE POPULAR ROUTE DESTINATION KAMPL.
The “Kampl”, the small southern neighbour of the striking Bischofsmütze, is a fixed star in the Salzburg ski tour scene, with a reliable ascent track from the high-altitude Mauerreith parking lot. The steep Promberg road leads there, for which all-wheel drive and/or chains are advisable in winter. This restriction does not apply from the starting point at the Annaberg Gratzen bus stop on the B 166, and under suitable conditions an ascent track will certainly be made. The real highlight is then the descent over the magnificent farm meadows, which motorists can only dream of behind the windshield. However, the whole tour with 1,350 meters of altitude gain and a short ascent during the descent requires good physical fitness. A possible earlier turning point would be Mahdriedl (1,647 m) above the Mahdalm.

Directions
About 50 meters from the bus stop Annaberg Gratzen, the Promberg road branches off eastwards towards the Mauerreith parking lot, which we follow only for 80 m. Then turn left along the driveway to the last farm or already change to the farm meadow before that. Go diagonally upwards in an easterly direction to the edge of the meadow and now continue in the forest on a marked logging track to the Mauerreith parking lot (walking time 1 hour). Either on the forest road or at the beginning of the parking lot immediately right with the summer path through the forest to the treeless ridge, which runs southeast to a fork in the road. The route to the Mahdalm and further to the Mahdriedel leads to the right, to the left the track runs above the picturesque Loseggalm to the saddle. First pass a cattle shelter on a flat stretch, then steeply over tiered terrain to a narrow ridge, which runs into the cirque below the Kamplbrunnspitze. Descent under safe conditions southwestwards through the steep Sulzenkar to the Sulzkaralm (1,633 m) and from there with 120 m of ascent back to the Mahdriedel saddle. Or descent as ascent to the Mauerreith parking lot. From there 100 m along the road, then right 70 meters of altitude on the gentle hill and from there, crossing the Promberg road once, back over the magnificent farm meadows.
