The Bürgermeisterhöhe on the Müllnerhorn in Bad Reichenhall

The family hike over the Bürgermeisterhöhe in Bad Reichenhall leads over fluffy forest paths and invites you to discover.

The path to the Bürgermeisterhöhe leads from the Tiroler Platz stop at the Predigtstuhlbahn in Bad Reichenhall through a beautiful pine forest. It steadily, but not too steeply, ascends on narrow paths over roots and soft forest floor. Here you can repeatedly enjoy wonderful views of Predigtstuhl and the azure blue Saalachsee.

The path is easy to walk but can be slippery depending on the weather. Surefootedness and sturdy footwear are advantageous. The path is very suitable for families with children but is not barrier-free and not suitable for strollers.

Directions

We start from the Südtiroler Platz stop in Bad Reichenhall heading south and follow Kiblinger Straße for a few meters, then turn right onto the footpath towards Bürgermeisterhöhe. From here, the path gently climbs steadily. We follow the hiking signs towards Bürgermeisterhöhe/Müllnerhorn. Starting from Bürgermeisterhöhe, there are 3 options for the return route to the starting point. Either take the same path back or choose a slightly longer circular route: a) via the Kieblinger Höhenweg along the southern mountain side b) via the northern mountain side past the Reischl Klamm. Both circular routes extend the distance by about one third. All options end again at the starting point, the Südtiroler Platz stop, from where regional bus 180 returns towards Salzburg.
