Through the Dry Gorge to the Erentrudisalm
FROM ELSBETHEN THROUGH A MYSTICAL LABYRINTH OF CRAZY STONES VIA THE HOSPITABLE ERENTRUDISALM TO PUCH.
Visiting the Dry Gorge is especially well suited for a public transport hike, as the parking lots at the end of the Stadlerweg access road have been discontinued and there is no reasonable starting point for private cars. Therefore, it is unusually quiet in this gigantic rock labyrinth, which has already attracted generations of adventure-seeking young people – some of whom have also gotten lost. No one has ever truly been lost, but surefootedness, slip-resistant soles, and some orientation skills are good prerequisites. Pure enjoyment is then offered by the reopened Erentrudisalm and since the return path for bus hikers doesn’t have to lead to the starting point, the route goes past the Vollererhof below to St. Jakob and over the Rosenkranzweg to the bus stop in Puch.  Â

Directions
The adventurous expedition through the Dry Gorge begins at the Elsbethen-Zieglau bus stop and follows the Stadlerweg, branching off before the bridge, uphill. With a deep view of the natural monument Stadlerkessel, the route leads to the beginning of the new gorge ascent relocated here. Interesting information boards explain the phenomenon of fissures formed after the Ice Age. After this exciting start, the path leads at a fork to the right even deeper through the wondrous world of the Dry Gorges and then over beautiful farmland up to the Erentrudisalm. Shortly before the inn, path 11 (Vollererhof, Puch) first branches off to the right, shortly afterwards, opposite the Schwarzenbergalm, path 11 again heads right downhill over the meadow. The scenic path meets an abandoned farmhouse after 20 minutes. Here, on the right, a tractor trail starts that crosses the meadow, then follows along a fence and exactly at the point where a power line crosses leads right to the farm driveway. Turning right again, past the farm on the marked path to St. Jakob, and on the edge of town, at the recycling station, follow the signs for Rosenkranzweg (path 10) to the Puch Vollererhofstraße bus stop.     Â
