Rosary route from Golling to Kuchl
THE PILGRIMAGE ROUTE BETWEEN GOLLING AND THE MOTHER PARISH KUCHL FELL INTO FORGETFULNESS. IN THE 1980S, IMAGE SHRINES WERE REDISCOVERED AND THE ROUTE WAS RENOVATED.
The old Rosary route consists of 15 image shrines that contain the three rosary mysteries. With biblical text excerpts and atmospheric paintings, they offer passers-by both a geographical and inner orientation aid. Even today, regular prayer walks take place here. The five image shrines of the ‘Joyful Rosary’ stretch from the beginning near the Kuchl Apfelkocher stop to the Mitterbach, the ‘Sorrowful Rosary’ ends at the Lenggries farmer, and the last five image shrines up to the Kuchl parish church are dedicated to the ‘Glorious Rosary’. The Rosary route, marked only by the image shrines, follows the former course of the historic Fürstenweg in longer sections, which also lost its former importance as the princes’ road over time. Thus, this atmospheric walk takes you back to long past times and perhaps encourages new perspectives with its religious contents.

Directions
The starting point is the Kuchl Apfelkocher stop just before the municipal boundary to Golling. A few meters before the nearby Aigner car dealership, the route turns right (W), a first image shrine with the inconspicuous sign 'Rosary route' is located on the right side of the road. The path follows the farm driveway, then immediately turns right uphill past the Schweiberer farm and follows the meadow path straight to the Mitterbach. At the time when the Rosary route was created, there was no commercial area here, which now has to be bypassed first to the right and then immediately turning left. Past the Neureiter company, the path leads to the factory premises of Elastica, on the back it runs straight over the meadow to the well-known cheese specialist 'Fürstenhof'. Via the Fürstenweg, it passes more image shrines to a chapel, behind which a new bridge over the Kertererbach was built. Along the right bank, the path leads into the town area and then follows Gartenstraße to the parish church.
