The Celtic Wheel in Hollersbach
ART AND HERBS
From Salzburg, you can reach Zell am See by both ÖBB trains and regional bus 260. From there, continue with the Pinzgau local railway. Sit back and enjoy the impressive panorama! Look forward to Hollersbach and a magnificent view of the peaks over 3,000 meters of the Hohe Tauern National Park. The starting point Hollersbach owes its name to the presence of many elder bushes at the valley’s exit. Therefore, the coat of arms motif is an elderflower. The mix of herbs, art, and the impressive mountain scenery of the Hohe Tauern makes Hollersbach feel instantly stimulating. Behind the Klausnerhaus located in the center, a typical Pinzgau farmhouse from the 14th century, lies a relaxation and herb garden. The effect of the elder plant is comprehensively illustrated there. In total, 500 herbs can be discovered here. Particularly interesting are the walkable alpine garden, a berry maze, a Celtic wheel, and a huge hedge labyrinth designed as an ecological footprint. The healing knowledge of the Pinzgau women was declared a UNESCO intangible cultural heritage in 2010. Nearby is the Kramerstall art hall, where the International Hollersbach Painting Weeks take place annually in three studios.
