Cultural richness in Mariapfarr

ON THE TRAIL OF THE NEW “SOIL – CULTURE – PATH”

Environmentally conscious and comfortable hardly gets better. With the direct connection of regional bus 270 from Salzburg, you can quickly get to Mariapfarr. The soil culture educational trail laid out there in Austria’s sunniest place teaches us about fertile soil as the most important foundation of life for our everyday living. Customs and culture complement this very instructive knowledge path. Agriculture and forestry not only form the livelihood and income base for the Lungau population, but for all people on this wonderful planet. Two stations therefore deal, for example, with the topics “Water and Soil” as well as “Forest and Soil.” Informative stops are also dedicated to the destruction of the soil structure. Those interested in Lungau culture and society will also enjoy this varied path of knowledge. Daily work with the soil shapes society and culture. Numerous customs of Lungau folk culture finally have the agricultural use of the forests and soils as an appealing motif. The locals ask in their customs for a mild winter or a plentiful harvest. Regional delicacies can be found by hikers and gourmets directly in the center of Mariapfarr or halfway at the Gasthof Häuserl im Wald.
