From Seekirchen around Lake Wallersee
Immerse yourself in Lake Wallersee. In summer with your swimsuit, in the transitional season with your eyes during an enjoyable route around the lake.
The second largest lake of the state with just under 6 km² is also one of the warmest. It’s great that there are many beautiful, often freely accessible bathing spots around the lake. So if you’re out and about during the hot season, don’t forget your swimsuit in your backpack; a refreshing footbath should always be possible. A particularly attractive beach is conveniently located right near the starting or end point of the lake round. After 4 to 5 hours of walking, the refreshing finish at the Seekirchen beach is just right. Perhaps also enjoy a fish specialty on the Kapeller family’s lake terrace between May and September – what could be better?

Directions
The starting point is the Seekirchen station stop. The route follows Bahnhofstraße out of town; after 1 km the access road to the beach turns off to the right. We, however, continue straight along the bike path towards Neumarkt and after 2.8 km reach Zell, another popular leisure area with lake access. The bike and pedestrian path crosses the adjacent Wenger Moor, a particularly valuable section of the nature reserve. A viewing platform provides more overview, which then experiences a multiple scenic enhancement after a short terrain step at the Wierer farm (528 m). In the Wallersee East Bay, visual and, if desired, also culinary delights at the Seehotel Winkler can be added. Always following the yellow Wallersee circular route – sign “RW” – the path leads past the campsite and the Marieninsel, must regain some altitude again in the forest, and leads into farm driveways. After Enzing, the path briefly reaches the shore again at Seebrunn (beach), from the Fenninger Spitz campsite once more municipal roads serve as the walking surface. After Fischtaging, turning right over the Fischach, the route ends at the beach or the Seekirchen station.
