The Unterwandalm at 1,600 m lies on the sunny side of the Großarltal valley and is a popular hiking destination for families, mountain bikers, and nature lovers. The alpine hut, built in 1710, delights with its cozy atmosphere and the magnificent view of the surrounding mountains. The Salzburger Almenweg also leads directly past the Alm.

A playground, a petting zoo with rabbits and guinea pigs, as well as the spacious alpine meadows make the Unterwandalm a popular outing destination for the whole family. The Alm is also known for its sociable hours with traditional Alm music – often the herder plays the accordion and creates a special atmosphere.

The Gratz family treats their guests to homemade specialties from their own production. The traditional “Brettljause” with cheese, bacon, sausage, alpine butter, and homemade bread is among the special delicacies of the Alm.

The Unterwandalm combines lived alpine tradition, musical hospitality, and regional delicacies to create a special excursion destination in the Großarltal.
