From the station, it is just a stone’s throw (500 meters) to the Graukogel cable car. Get on and you are already up in the mountain world at approximately 1950 meters altitude amidst pine trees up to 300 years old. The Zirbenweg starts at the Graukogel hut and is designed for a leisurely walking time of about 45 minutes. Incredible but true: your body makes 3600 fewer heartbeats if you spend a night in a Zirben bed! – Try it out; you will find a suitable wooden bed along the circular path. Or have a snack at the Zirben table! With a wooden swing you and your children finally fly high into the world of your dreams. Besides this Zirben magic, you enjoy magnificent views into the Gastein Valley! If you now have power and motivation for more altitude meters after all the relaxation, it’s best to continue to the Palfnersee, which is at about 2100 meters. Continuing the route over the Palfnerscharte to the Reedsee is also possible. Cozy refreshments are possible in summer and winter at the Graukogel hut located directly next to the mountain station.
